Today on TV I heard Cathy McMorris Rodgers say, “I lead by example.” I beg to differ. For most of my life, I was a Republican deeply disturbed by the neo-cons the first 10 years of this century. Then in 2010, the whack-jobs in the Tea Party invaded and now the alt-right has taken over. This stopped being the Republican party long ago.

McMorris Rodgers did not get where she is by leading but by following. She followed the neo-cons and Tea Party and now she follows Donald Trump, who, if he was not rich, would be in a state hospital. I know Republicans who have principles and Christians who put their faith before whatever group is in charge at the moment. McMorris Rodgers needs to go to Amazon and buy a book on leadership (any will do) because she certainly does not know what it is. She was in truth a prop for the Republican party to show a woman on stage.

Leadership involves integrity, independence, reason and evidence to make adjustments. Trump’s followers? Einstein said two things were infinite: the universe and stupidity and he was not sure about the universe.
