From staff reports

At least three people were injured, one critically, in a two-car crash Monday morning on north Monroe Street, Spokane police said.

Officer Shane Phillips, a department spokesman, said it appears a silver hatchback was traveling south on Monroe near West Central Avenue shortly before 8:20 a.m. when it slid sideways and struck the side of a northbound gold sedan.

At least two people were in the sedan and one in the hatchback, Phillips said. All were taken to a local hospital.

Phillips said impairment doesn’t appear to be a factor. The crash is still under investigation.
