Labor Day closures: Government offices, library braches and SCRAPS

Government offices from Spokane to Coeur d’Alene will be closed Monday for the Labor Day holiday, as will post offices and banks. Library branches and the Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service shelter will also be closed.

There won’t be any Monday trash pick up, so all trash pick ups will be delayed by one day all week. The Spokane Transit Authority will be running buses on a Sunday scheduled on Monday. People visiting downtown Spokane do not have to plug parking meters and the normal Spokane City Council meeting has been canceled.

Some Spokane Public Libraries normally closed on Mondays will be closed on Tuesday instead. They are the Eastside, Hillyard and Indian Trail branches.

But just because offices are closed doesn’t mean there aren’t recreation options. Terrace View Pool at 13525 E. 24th Avenue will be open Monday with open swim times from 1 to 5 p.m. and from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Spokane County and City of Spokane golf courses will be open and the lifeguards will still be on duty at the Liberty Lake Regional Park.
