Tentative trial date set for suspect in Idaho overdose death

A tentative trial date has been set for a man accused of forcing a 22-year-old to eat a lethal dose of methamphetamine in Post Falls.

The Coeur d’Alene Press reported that 43-year-old Shaun Patrick Kelly recently pleaded not guilty to charges in the case.

His trial is scheduled for November.

Authorities say Evan Mychal Larkin was held at gunpoint and forced to eat the lethal dose to prove he wasn’t a police informant.

Kelly was arrested July 1. His bond is set at $150,000.

Larkin was the grandson of a former Post Falls mayor.
