Spokane County deputies investigating homicide near Spangle

Spokane County detectives are investigating an apparant homicide near Spangle.

A man was found dead Tuesday morning at a home at 16109 S. Keeney Road at about 7:20 a.m. There were signs that the man was involved in an altercation, but it’s unclear how he died, said Deputy Mark Gregory, a spokesman for the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

Gregory declined to say if the man had been shot but said the killing doesn’t appear to be random. The victim’s identity and cause of death have not been disclosed.

A child was home at the time but likely did not witness the killing, Gregory said. The child is now with family.
