Gonzaga, Whitworth get late goals to pull out men’s soccer wins on East Coast

Christo Michaelson and Ben White scored second-half goals to rally Gonzaga over George Mason 2-1 in a men’s soccer match played in Fairfax, Virginia, on Sunday.
The Bulldogs improved to 5-0-1, their best start since going 8-0-0 to start the 1980 season.
The Bulldogs were behind 1-0 at halftime, the first time this season Gonzaga had trailed. Michaelson tied the match in the 61st minute from 12 yards out after a pass from the end line by Graison Le. White scored the game-winner in the 74th when he collected a deflection off a throw-in and scored from the top of the box.
Ben Willis made three saves for Gonzaga against the Patriots (1-3-1).
Whitworth 4, The College of New Jersey 3: Jonah Snyder scored the game-winning goal with 14 seconds remaining in the second half, finishing a cross from Austin Cassity, in the match played in Ewing, New Jersey.
The Pirates (2-1) led 3-0 after first-half goals by Cassity and Alfredo Ornelas and a goal in the 53rd minute from Snyder. But TCNJ (2-3) rallied with three goals in a span of just 3:19.
