Prep roundup: Frucci, Savoie spark East Valley victory

Shannon Frucci scored two goals in the first 20 minutes and Madison Savoie notched the game-winner in a shootout as the East Valley Knights (3-1, 2-0) eked out a 4-3 win over the Clarkston Bantams (1-2, 1-2) in Great Northern League girls soccer action on Thursday in Clarkston.

Also in Great Northern League play, Nicole Rowley made six saves en route to her second shutout of the season and the Cheney Blackhawks (6-0, 3-0) remained unbeaten with a 3-0 victory over the West Valley Eagles (0-4, 0-3) at West Valley.


Rylee Meritt totaled 10 aces and nine digs to lead the Colville Indians (3-1, 3-1to a 25-13, 25-7, 25-8 sweep over the visiting Medical Lake Cardinals (0-5, 0-4) in Northeast A League action.

In other NEA action, Justis Wells handed out 19 assists to propel the Freeman Scotties (3-1, 3-1) to a 25-12, 25-10, 25-14 sweep of the host Deer Park Stags (2-2, 2-2).
