Liberty edges Asotin in triple overtime
In an early-season battle to assert dominance in the Northeast 2B League, Tyler Hass scored a touchdown and two-point try in the third overtime and visiting Liberty held off Asotin 22-20 on Friday to remain undefeated and deal the Panthers their first loss.
Colton Ball scored for Asotin in the third OT after Liberty went up, but the Lancers stuffed the two-point try.
Haas rushed for 92 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Liberty (3-0, 3-0) hosts winless Wilbur-Creston next week, while Asotin (2-1, 2-1) tries to rebound at home against Davenport.
Colfax 41, Wilbur-Creston 0: Jared Kneale had two touchdowns and visiting Colfax (2-1, 2-1) routed Wilbur-Creston (0-3, 0-3) 41-0.
Kneale scored on a punt block return and caught a 15-yard touchdown pass.
Kettle Falls 29, Springdale 6: McKay Knowlton had three touchdown runs and 242 yards on 16 carries and Kettle Falls (1-2, 1-2) pulled away from visiting Springdale (0-3, 0-3) 29-6.
Knowlton scored on carries of 67, 13 and 55 yards as the Bulldogs scored three third-quarter touchdowns to put it away.
Reardan 26, Davenport 13: Justis Anderson had touchdown runs of 25 and 23 yards and visiting Reardan (1-2, 1-2) beat Davenport (2-1, 2-1) 26-13.
The Indians piled up 230 yards on the ground.
Josh Meserve added a pair of short touchdown runs.
Northeast A
Ben Darcy ran for four touchdowns and visiting Freeman (3-0, 1-0) beat Medical Lake (0-3, 0-1) 51-0 in the league opener for both teams.
JT Neely added a pair of touchdown passes and caught a 75-yard touchdown pass from Desmond Parisotto.
The Scotties have shut out all three of their opponents this year by a combined 124-0. Freeman plays at Chewelah next week.
Deer Park 42, Colville 16: Tyson Lim ran 31 times for 441 yards with three touchdowns and Deer Park (2-1, 1-0) handled visiting Colville (1-2, 0-1) 42-16 in the league opener for both.
Deer Park amassed 526 total yards rushing. Lim scored on a pair of 97-yard touchdown runs and added a 3-yard plunge.
Newport 13, Chewelah 6: Koa Pancho scored two touchdowns – including a 17-yard fourth-quarter run – and carried 20 times for 89 yards to help visiting Newport (2-1, 1-0) get past Chewelah (2-1, 1-1) 13-6.
Chewelah’s Dom Coleman scored the only touchdown for the Cougars and had 18 carries for 97 yards.
Lakeside 45, Riverside 21: Caden Clark caught five passes for 105 yards and two touchdowns to help Lakeside (2-1, 1-0) beat Riverside (0-3, 0-2) 45-21.
Caden Wickwire went 10 of 15 for 170 yards.
Wickwire connected with Micah Holmes on a 45-yard fourth-quarter touchdown.
Nonleague
Maguire Isaak scored on a 23-yard, fourth-quarter touchdown run to help Almira/Coulee-Hartline (3-0) edge visiting Touchet (1-1) 22-20.
ACH’s Charles Hunt rushed for 86 yards and had five catches for 64 yards – including a 25-yard touchdown.
Idaho
Nate Buer tossed a pair of touchdown passes and visiting Post Falls (3-1) blanked Cheney (1-2) 21-0.
Buer hooked up with Michael Mills from 49 yards in the first quarter and added a 20-yard strike to Quin Bennett in the third.
CDA 49, Moses Lake 28: Coeur d’Alene moved to 3-1 on the season, defeating Moses Lake (0-2) on the road 49-28.
