Blue-green algae advisory lifted for Hayden and Avondale lakes

From staff reports

Blue-green algae advisories have been lifted for Hayden Lake and Avondale Lake.

Concentrations of the algae, which can produce toxins dangerous to people and animals, are no longer a concern, the Panhandle Health District and Idaho Department of Environmental Quality said in a news release.

However, Fernan Lake remains under a blue-green algae health advisory. People recreating near Fernan Lake should avoid swallowing or inhaling lake water and avoid areas of the lake with visible scum on the water. Pets also should be kept out of the water.
