North Idaho College will open its new Career and Technical Education Facility in Rathdrum on Wednesday.
The $15 million building will house nine career and technical programs, including automotive, collision repair, diesel, industrial mechanic/millwright, welding and machining.
The 110,960-square-foot building is at 7064 W. Lancaster Road, next to the Kootenai Technical Education Campus.
College capital funds and fundraising paid for the new facility. Doug, Jim and Diane Parker of the Parker auto dealerships in North Idaho gave $1 million for equipment and scholarship support. The facility will be named for the Parker family.
Wednesday’s grand opening and ribbon cutting is set for 4 p.m. Refreshments will be served and tours available.
