Gonzaga University is throwing a party to welcome back the men’s basketball team Wednesday, and the entire community is invited.

People are encouraged to wear their “Zag swag” and come to a homecoming rally on the lawn in front of the Foley Library on campus at 4:30 p.m. Anyone who doesn’t have any Gonzaga gear is encouraged to wear red, white and blue instead.

“Today is a historic moment for Gonzaga University and for Spokane,” Gonzaga president Thayne McCulloh said in a news release. “We are so grateful to our community and all of Zag Nation for your unwavering support of our unbelievable men’s team.”

The Zags made it as far as the NCAA championship game before losing to North Carolina on Monday to wrap up a 37-2 season.

McCulloh, coach Mark Few and several players are expected to speak during the rally.
