Stop Avista sale

The sale of Avista to a company outside the United States, state of Washington and the city of Spokane is obscene and grossly unfair to the city and all Avista customers. A city that has hydroelectric power, rivers and dams has a terrific advantage over other cities. This sale was made only for the benefit of the stockholders and is the ultimate insult to everyone who is a customer. Do you think a company in Ontario, Canada, will be concerned about the rates we pay? It is a monopoly and will get the inflated purchase cost back as quickly as possible.

Don’t let them make this sale! We will be paying for it forever. Call the mayor, City Council people, county commissioners, Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell and Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers.
