Spokane Indians’ Tyler Ratliff helps Northwest All-Stars top Pioneer League
HILLSBORO, Ore. – Spokane Indians third baseman Tyler Ratliff scored the go-ahead run in the fifth inning and the Northwest League beat the Pioneer League 5-4 in their 2017 All-Star Game at Ron Tonkin Field on Tuesday.
Ratliff drew a walk off Moises Nova (Billings) in the fifth inning and later scored after Novoa walked three more batters consecutively. Ratliff added a single in the eighth inning.
Indians pitcher Cole Ragans was selected but did not appear in the game.
Seattle Mariners prospect David Banuelos (Everett) went 1 for 2 with a run and an RBI while Joseph Rosa (Everett) went 0 for 3 but scored a run.
The Pioneer team pushed four across in the second inning. Dallas Carroll (Helena) had a two-run single, while Shael Mendoza (Grand Junction) and Amalani Fukofuka (Idaho Falls) drove in runs with singles.
The NWL squad rallied for five runs in the fifth. Luis Acuncion (Tri-City) doubled in a run and scored on a single by Camden Duzenack (Hillsboro). Later in the inning, Banuelos plated a run with a single before Nova lost the strike zone.
