On the Farm: Mariners minor league affiliate report for Aug. 9

Tacoma (AAA)
TACOMA – Daniel Vogelbach homered and singled, scoring three runs while also driving in three as the Tacoma Rainiers defeated the Nashville Sounds 9-2 on Wednesday.
Mike Marjama homered and singled with two runs and a pair of RBIs for Tacoma.
Tacoma started the scoring in the first inning when Vogelbach hit a two-run home run.
The Rainiers later added two runs in the fourth and five in the fifth to put the game away.
Ernesto Frieri (1-1) got the win with 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief while Nashville starter Frankie Montas (0-2) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game.
Yairo Munoz singled twice, also stealing two bases for the Sounds.
Arkansas (AA)
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Eric Aguilera hit an RBI single in the top of the 11th inning to lead the Frisco RoughRiders to a 2-1 win over the Arkansas Travelers.
Luke Tendler scored the go-ahead run on the single after he led off the inning with a single and advanced to third on a single by Jose Trevino.
Arkansas had a runner on first in the bottom of the 11th, but Ryan Casteel struck out to end the game.
Nick Gardewine (1-1) got the win with two innings of scoreless, two-hit relief while Aaron West (0-1) took the loss in the Texas League game.
Braden Bishop doubled and singled twice, also stealing a base for the Travelers. Chuck Taylor singled twice, also stealing a base.
Modesto (High-A)
MODESTO, Calif. – Rayder Ascanio hit a two-run double in the fifth inning, leading the Modesto Nuts to a 6-4 win over the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.
Matthew Festa struck Zach Reks out with a runner on first to end the game for his third save of the season.
The double by Ascanio, part of a four-run inning, tied the game 4-4 before Jordan Cowan hit a two-run single later in the inning.
Joey Strain (3-2) got the win in relief while Rancho Cucamonga starter Jordan Sheffield (0-1) took the loss in the California League game.
For the Quakes, Reks doubled and singled twice, scoring two runs.
Clinton (Low-A)
The Clinton LumberKings did not play on Wednesday. They return to action on Thursday at the Beloit Snappers.
Everett (Short-A)
EVERETT – Johnny Adams hit a two-run double in the seventh inning, leading the Everett AquaSox to an 8-7 win over the Spokane Indians.
The double by Adams capped a three-run inning and tied the game 7-7 after Onil Pena scored on an error earlier in the inning.
The AquaSox took the lead for good in the eighth when Joe Venturino scored on an error.
Fabian Roman (1-1) got the win with a scoreless inning in relief while Cole Wiper (0-1) took the loss in the Northwest League game. Matt Clancy retired the side in order for his fourth save of the season.
Matt Whatley homered and doubled, driving home four runs and scoring a couple for the Indians.
