Another bomb threat at Washington State University

Stimson Hall on the Washington State University campus in Pullman was evacuated Thursday afternoon after a “specific” threat was received, according to WSU officials.

The college sent an alert at 1:47 p.m. warning of the threat to Stimson Hall and a “generalized threat to the wider campus” with a “stated 2 p.m. deadline.”

Students were asked to avoid the area, but classes were not canceled. The Owen Science Library next to Stimson Hall is also closed simply because the building is almost entirely glass, said WSU vice president of marketing and communication Phil Weiler.

“It’s business as usual otherwise,” he said.

Police searched the dorm for several hours Thursday evening.

This is the third bomb threat at WSU this week. Stimson Hall was evacuated Monday night after swastikas and a bomb threat were found penciled on the walls. It was also evacuated around 1 a.m. Thursday after another threatening message was found, said Weiler.

“Last night, someone found something scrawled on a dry-erase board,” he said.
