Boys basketball roundup: Damion Carter scores 17 to lead Ferris past North Centradl

Ferris 70, North Central 60: Damion Carter scored 17 and the visiting Saxons (3-0) beat the Indians (1-2) in a Greater Spokane League opener on Tuesday. Shamrock Campbell also scored 17 and Reece Van Lierop added 15 for the Saxons.

Gonzaga Prep 60, Mt. Spokane 32: Anton Watson scored 20 points and the Bullpups (2-0, 1-0) defeated the visiting Wildcats (1-1, 0-1).

Central Valley 68, Mead 62: Grant Hannan scored 19 points and the visiting Bears (1-1, 1-0) beat the Panthers (1-1, 0-1). Tyson Rogalette led the Panthers with 34 points.

Shadle Park 68, Rogers 62: Armani Luna and Adrian Conway each tallied 18 points and the Highlanders (3-0, 1-0) defeated the visiting Pirates (1-2, 0-1).


West Valley 79, Lakeside (WA) 51: Collin Sather scored 22 points and the visiting Eagles (2-0) defeated Lakeside (2-2) in Nine Mile Falls. Cletis Hydrick added 19 points for West Valley, which shot 65 percent from the field. David Smith led Lakeside with 13.

Freeman 61, Cheney 50: Michael Coumont scored 23 points, making five 3-pointers and the Scotties (3-0) beat the visiting Blackhawks (1-1). Dylan Oja scored 12 points with eight rebounds and three blocks for the Scotties. Jake Berman lead the Blackhawks with 18 points.

Medical Lake 57, Davenport 56: Derek Steege had 30 points and went 6 for 11 from the 3-point line and the Cardinals (2-0) defeated the visiting Gorillas. Down by one point with 6 seconds left, Garren Garza drove the length of the court and scored the winning layup for the Cardinals.

Colville 72, Republic 28: Ty Sandaine scored 18 and the visiting Indians (2-0) rolled over the Tigers (0-1). Joe Keopke led the Tigers with 16 points.

Tri-Cities Prep 74, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 71: Bryce Kelly drained five 3-pointers en route to 19 points, but the Broncos (1-1) lost to the visiting Jaguars (2-0). Shontz Taeger added 11 points for the Broncos.

Valley Christian 53, Selkirk 47: Austin Giles scored 18 points and the visiting Panthers (3-0, 2-0) defeated the Rangers (1-2) in Ione.

Odessa 57, Wilbur-Creston 37: Ryan Moffet scored 23 points and the Tigers beat the visiting Wildcats. Connor Hunt added six points and 11 rebounds for the Tigers. Jason Townshend lead the way for Wildcats with 13 points.

Columbia 81, Northport 37: Corbin Nelson and Riley McLain each tallied 23 points and the Lions (1-0) defeated the visiting Mustangs (0-2, 0-1) in a Northeast 1B league game in Hunters. Nelson also logged 12 rebounds and McLain had six 3-pointers.

Liberty Christian 64, Oakesdale 52: Grant McClure scored 16 points and the Patriots(1-1) beat the host Nighthawks (2-1). Evan Henning scored 19 points and Jacob Himes added five steals for the Nighthawks.

Timberlake (ID) 59, Riverside 45: Colton Counts had 15 points and the visiting Tigers defeated the Rams. Kory Cross added 13 points for the Rams.


Sandpoint 61, Priest River 53: Robby Johnson scored 22 points and the visiting Bulldogs (2-2) beat the Spartans (0-3) in a nonleague game. Keegan Hegel led the Spartans with 18.

Bonners Ferry 68, Wallace 53: Brady Bateman scored 22 points and the Badgers (3-0) beat the visiting Miners (2-2). Zach Welch had 19 for the Miners.
