Girls basketball roundup: Julie Schoener’s game-high 14 points lead Newport over Priest River

Newport 58, Priest River 28: Julie Schoener had 14 points and the host Grizzlies (1-0) beat the Spartans (1-5) on Wednesday in a nonleague game. Karah Fink had 11 points for the Spartans. Jocelin Nenema grabbed 10 rebounds for the Grizzlies.

Kettle Falls 58, Odessa 35: Taylor Dunlap and Zarah Johnson combined for seven 3-pointers and 30 points and the visiting Bulldogs (2-1) defeated the Tigers (1-2). Maddy Wagner of the Tigers finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
