Mon., Dec. 11, 2017
SALEM, Ore. – A woman has died following a house fire in Salem.
The Statesman Journal reports that more than a dozen firefighters responded to reports of smoke billowing out of the home early Sunday morning.
Firefighters noticed fire in the back portion of the building, entered the home and knocked the fire down in about four minutes.
Officials found a woman unconscious and unresponsive in the home while executing a primary search of the roughly 900-square foot building.
She was taken to a nearby hospital where she died. She was the only resident in the home at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
