Tue., Dec. 12, 2017
SEATTLE – Authorities are investigating an armed robbery and car chase that left the suspect shot dead by Seattle police officers.
Seattle police say multiple officers are now on leave after opening fire on the man at a park.
Police say the case began with the man and a woman threatening a mall store manager and also a nearby apartment complex manager with a handgun when confronted Monday night.
Police soon located the woman and began to chase the man who was in a car.
Police say the man fired multiple shots at the officers while fleeing.
When the car chase ended, police say officers fired at the man because he got out of the car with a gun.
He was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
No officers were hurt.
