Garage damaged, three vehicles destroyed by fire in Spokane Valley

UPDATED: Sat., Dec. 16, 2017

From staff reports

Quick work by Spokane Valley Fire Department crews suppressed a garage fire in Spokane Valley Friday night, but not before three vehicles had been destroyed.

At around 7:57 p.m., fire crews responded to reports of a structure fire at 13307 E. Bitterroot Ln. in the Elk Ridge Heights neighborhood, according to a Spokane Valley Fire Department news release. They discovered a “large amount of fire” inside the three car garage. Initial responders went to work to contain the blaze, giving additional support time to arrive.

The fire was contained within minutes, according to the release.

Three vehicles were destroyed, however, and the garage sustained significant fire damage. The attached home sustained water and smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
