Idaho deputies avoid serious injury when patrol vehicle hit

Associated Press

KUNA, Idaho – Two southwest Idaho sheriff’s deputies needed treatment after a 21-year-old man lost control of his vehicle on Interstate 84 and slammed into their patrol vehicle parked on the side of the road.

The two Ada County sheriff’s deputies had responded to a previous crash Saturday morning near Kuna when their vehicle was hit.

Officials say one deputy jumped clear and the other remained in the vehicle that rolled over after being struck.

Both deputies were taken to a hospital where they were treated and released. Their names haven’t been released.

Dustin Peters was cited for suspicion of reckless driving. He was treated at the scene but not transported to a hospital.
