The Eagle Holiday Classic tournament started on Wednesday with 72 games scheduled and 48 varsity teams competing over three days.

It was a nice start for the co-hosts as the West Valley and Lakeside girls both won their first games.

Hailey Marlow scored 18 points and West Valley (5-4) beat Bonners Ferry (7-2) 63-55, while Sienna Swannack scored 22 points and Lakeside (5-3) beat Tonasket (4-4) 62-32.

The Shadle Park and Mt. Spokane boys both picked up wins in the Hanford Holiday Tournament.

The Cam Jam Clash for Cancer kicks off tonight at Central Valley, pulling in elite girls basketball talent from across the state to benefit a couple of great causes.
