GSL girls: Top-seeded Central Valley cruises past Shadle Park
Lexie Hull scored 15 points and Central Valley (20-0, 18-0) cruised past visiting Shadle Park (0-19, 0-18) 61-14 on Saturday.
Central Valley, ranked second in state 4A in the latest WIAA RPI ratings, continues its impressive season and stayed undefeated with its 48th consecutive win dating back to last season.
The top-seeded Bears host Pasco in 4A regional first round action on Wednesday.
Emilie Tangeman led Shadle Park with seven points. Shadle goes to Kennewick in the 3A subregional on Tuesday.
Gonzaga Prep 43, Mt. Spokane 34: Olivia Mayer scored 13 points and the 4A No. 2-seed visiting Bullpups (13-7, 13-5) defeated GSL 3A No. 1-seed Wildcats (16-4, 14-4).
Despite falling behind 24-15 at halftime, the Bullpups shut down the Wildcats in the second half and were able to steal the win. G-Prep hosts Walla Walla on Wednesday in the 4A regionals.
Averi Adams led Mt. Spokane with 14 points. The Wildcats host the Rogers-Southridge winner on Saturday in the 3A regional.
Mead 52, North Central 47: Aaliyah Pauling scored 22 points, including 12 in the first quarter, and the visiting Panthers (13-7, 11-7) topped the Indians (7-13, 6-12).
Alyse Jackson and Lindsey Russell scored 10 points apiece for Mead, which led 22-10 after the first quarter and withstood a second-half challenge.
Mead faces U-Hi on Tuesday in the play-in game to the 4A regional.
Sativa Rogers led North Central with 16 points, including two 3-pointers. Sunny Ellenwood brought in 11 points with 11 rebounds.
North Central hosts the winner of Kennewick-Shadle Park on Thursday in the subregional.
Lewis and Clark 83, University 58: Jacinta Buckley scored 18 points the visiting Tigers (12-8, 12-6) overwhelmed the Titans (11-9, 10-8).
Only up by two after the first quarter, the Tigers’ offense exploded for 29 points in the second quarter to blow open the lead. Kaylee Bishop and Dominique Arquette both finished with 17 points. Bishop made five 3-pointers.
Lewis and Clark plays at Chiawanna on Wednesday in the 4A regionals.
University was led by freshman Ellie Boni with 16 points.
Rogers 74, Ferris 54: Akon Aleu led four in double figures with 17 points and the Pirates (5-15, 4-14) handled visiting Saxons (2-18, 2-17).
Atyzha Upton scored 15 points while Jaylen Fourstar and Marijah Christen added 13 points apiece for Rogers, which hit seven 3-pointers and used an 18-8 second-quarter run to put some distance between the teams.
Rogers plays at Southridge on Thursday in the 3A regionals.
Haylee Summers paced Ferris with 21 points.
