Man found dead outside Carlyle Care Center

A man was found dead on the sidewalk Thursday evening outside the Carlyle Care Center at 206 S. Post St.

The Spokane Fire Department responded to the location around 5:15 p.m. for a medical emergency but were unable to revive the man, said Spokane Police Officer Nick Briggs. There were no signs of criminal activity, he said.

“Any death not in a medical facility is investigated by police,” Briggs said.

The man’s identity has not been released, but residents of the Carlyle going into and out of the building Thursday night said the man lived there.

The Carlyle is run by Pioneer Human Services and offers assisted living services to the mentally ill, the developmentally disabled and those recovering from substance abuse.
