Apparent injury forces referee to leave Gonzaga men’s basketball game

Early in the second half, a referee at the Gonzaga game removed himself from play following an apparent injury.

A person affiliated with the university’s athletic department said Gonzaga’s trainer overheard the official say he believed he had injured his Achilles tendon.

The game was completed using two referees.
