Area boys: Kamiakin knocks off Shadle Park in 3A subregional title game

Garrett Paxton scored 25 points and Kamiakin (19-3) beat visiting Shadle Park (16-5) 55-49 on Thursday in the District 8 3A subregional title game.

Kamiakin advances to host the District 2 No. 7 team on Tuesday in a glue crossover game, while Shadle Park will host Mt. Spokane on Tuesday for second place in the subregion and a berth to a glue crossover game.

Andreas Brown led Shadle Park with 17 points, Markeith Brown added 14 and Tanner Groves had 11.

Isaiah Brimmer scored 13 points for Kamiakin, while Champ Grayson added 10.

Mt. Spokane 54, North Central 45: Adam Boals scored 16 points and the Wildcats (10-13) beat the visiting Indians (4-18).

Tanner Brooks added 12 points for Mt. Spokane, which used a 17-9 second-quarter run to pull away.

Leon Sayers led North Central with 17 points.

District 7 2B

Colfax 60, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 21: Carson Cloaninger scored 17 points and the Bulldogs (17-5) routed the Broncos (10-14) in a District 7 2B loser-out game at West Valley HS.

Colfax plays St. George’s on Saturday for third place and a berth at regionals.

Jaydon Soncarty scored 15 points for Colfax, while Danny Robinson added 13. Colfax limited LRS to single digits in all four quarters.

St. George’s 67, Springdale 45: Erik Farias scored 26 points with eight rebounds and seven assists and the Dragons (15-8) eliminated the Chargers (13-10) in a District 7 2B loser-out game.

Mitchell Ward added 15 points for St. George’s, which raced out to a 21-7 lead after the first quarter.

Chandler Carr led Springdale with 23 points and nine rebounds.

Idaho

Lakeland 53, Sandpoint 46: Dylan Vahey scored 18 points and the visiting Hawks (8-13, 3-1) beat the Bulldogs (3-16, 0-3)in an Inland Empire 4A game.

Kaden Davis and Dylan Knight scored 10 points apiece for Lakeland.

Robbie Johnson led Sandpoint with 16 points and Spencer Thompson added 11.

Wallace 46, Clark Fork 64: Zack Welch scored 17 points and the Miners (12-8) beat the visiting Wampus Cats (6-11) in nonleague play.

Erik Barckebusch and Hunter Gust added 16 points apiece for Wallace.

Kellogg 53, Timberlake 24: The Wildcats (15-2, 7-0) routed the visiting Tigers (10-7, 5-2) 53-24 on Thursday in an Intermountain League game.
