17-year-old accused of stabbing twin brother to death in Coulee City

A 17-year-old boy is accused of killing his twin brother early Sunday morning at a home in Coulee City, Washington.

Grant County sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in the 300 block of West Washington Street at around 2:30 a.m. and found the stabbing victim, a sheriff’s news release said. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The victim’s twin brother was booked into jail on charges of manslaughter and assault-domestic violence, the news release said.

An autopsy will be scheduled by Grant County Coroner Craig Morrison, said Kyle Foreman, a deputy and spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.

Foreman said this type of crime is unusual for Coulee City, which has a population of around 560 people.

“It’s a very close-knit community,” he said. “Certainly, the town itself is going to be grieving for a while.”
