Where are open hearts?

On Jan. 29, by President Trump’s selective executive order, thoroughly vetted refugees and legal Muslim residents with visas, passports and green cards were unconstitutionally denied entry to America, rendering the words on the Statue of Liberty a bald-faced lie.

To America and her promise died. It’s lights out in the supposed “Shining City on a Hill.”

To the GOP leadership: your shameful silence and continuing gutless refusal to denounce the dangerous, unstable demagogue in the Oval Office, and his complete rejection of our Judeo-Christian values, will be forever taught to future schoolchildren as an example of the worst moral cowardice in pursuit of political power our country has ever seen.

As for me, how can I, with good conscience, say the Pledge of Allegiance or sing patriotic songs, because they have become false paeans to a great and open-hearted country that no longer exists.
