Area college: Levi Taylor scores 26 points and CC Spokane beats Columbia Basin

Levi Taylor scored 26 points with four steals and CC Spokane (22-5, 11-3) beat Columbia Basin (3-24, 2-14) 84-61 on Saturday in Northwest Athletic Conference play in Pasco.

Taylor went 11 of 18 from the field despite going 1 of 6 beyond the arc. Cesar Sandoval was 7 of 11 from 18 points and added seven rebounds, while Orin Porter added 14 points with seven boards.

CCS trails North Idaho by one game in the loss column in the NWAC East Region with two games to play and a game in hand over the Cardinals.

Jake Ram led Columbia Basin with 10 points.

Spokane led 40-28 at intermission and generated 24 points off 21 turnovers.

North Idaho 88, Walla Walla 75: Markus Golder scored 29 points with 13 rebounds and the Cardinals (25-3, 13-2) topped the visiting Warriors (20-7, 11-4).

Walla Walla drops to third in the region by a half-game behind CCS.

Zaequan Satterthwaite scored 24 points with 11 rebounds, Sam Dowd had 13 points and Niko Bevens added 10.

Dalton Thompson and Beau Tiileman paced Walla Walla with 15 points apiece.

NIC shot 57 percent from the field and hit 3 of 10 from beyond the arc and enjoyed a 43-32 rebound advantage.

Women

Columbia Basin 82, CC Spokane 68: Cayla Jones scored 29 points and the Hawks (19-8, 11-5) handled the visiting Sasquatch (21-4, 12-2) in Pasco.

Bri King led five in double figures with 19 points for CCS, which managed just 2 of 23 from beyond the arc. Cali Moscrip and Imani Guillory had 12 points apiece.

Walla Walla 76, North Idaho 67: Cierra Jo McKeown scored 17 points, Jade Skidmore had 14 points with 17 rebounds and the visiting Warriors (20-4, 13-2) topped the Cardinals (13-13, 5-9).

Cierra Dvorak led NIC with 19 points with 10 rebounds. Eilish Smith and Whitney Meier added 12 points apiece.
