Vandals suspend Charles Akanno from football team

Redshirt freshman Charles Akanno has been suspended indefinitely from the Idaho Vandals football team, the university announced on Monday.

“We have high expectations for every member of our program,” head coach Paul Petrino stated. “It is an honor and a privilege to represent the University of Idaho. Until this matter is resolved by the courts, Charles will be suspended from all team activities.’

Akanno and Chris Hunter, a former player who is no longer with the team, were charged Monday morning after a shoplifting incident on Sunday.
