Justice for the bullied

“…For liberty and justice for all.” These words have been resonating with me since I attended the Spokane Public Schools Board meeting. I watched as the leaders of our youth stood, hand over heart, and pledged before a room of parents, teachers, community organizations and concerned citizens gathered on Dec. 14.

Where is the justice for the students who are being bullied, targeted and harassed? Where is the liberty for the youth that are facing harassment on a daily basis? The Spokane Alliance has asked the SPS Board to make a public statement affirming the current SPS policy in effect regarding harassment, intimidation and bullying.

Due to the lack of action, community leaders, parents, teachers and citizens gathered to express their concern and the urgency for this issue to be resolved. The response from SPS was discouraging to say the least. I ask you, if our children’s leaders are not willing to fight for their justice and freedom, who will?

I urge you to speak out and demand that leadership be take. Demand justice. Demand liberty.
