Trump voters betrayed
Concerning the Nov. 23 article, “Trump shifts on Clinton, climate”: Well, it did not take long for President-elect Trump to renege on his major campaign promises. Trump promised to criminally prosecute Hillary Clinton. Now, he says he will not. And his initial statements that climate change is a complete hoax? Now he says he has an open mind on this subject.
Trump says he will “drain the swamp,” referring to removing old line Republican Party hacks. In looking at his proposed Cabinet members, he is doing the exact opposite. He will not repeal Obamacare, but just make modifications to the program. Trump will not deport the 11 million illegal migrants, but now two to three may be deported.
And sealing off the border with Mexico? Does he propose building an Iron Curtain similar to the Berlin Wall? Mexico is our third-largest trading partner. Doe she intend to cut off all trade with Mexico?
Historically, when one political party controls the executive and legislative branches of government, federal spending increases dramatically. In my opinion, by 2020 the federal government’s budget will exceed $7 trillion. Currently it’s $4 trillion.
Trump voters are being betrayed.
