Woman who wanted to be arrested got her wish

A woman determined to be arrested had her wish granted after she allegedly shoved and assaulted a Spokane police officer Monday.

Police were called to the Taco Bell at 825 W. Third Avenue just before 2 a.m. Monday on a report of two women fighting. One woman was still there when officers arrived, and restaurant employees asked that she be removed.

According to court documents, the woman, identified as Mishel W. Stein, refused to leave and demanded to be arrested. She was told she would not be arrested and had to leave. The officer said Stein then pushed him, grabbed onto his uniform and yelled, “Come on, taser me,” according to court documents.

The officer wrestled her to the floor and arrested her. He later noticed that the wire that connected his earpiece to his radio had been severed in the scuffle, according to court documents.

Stein faces charges of third-degree assault and third-degree malicious mischief.
