The Pro Football Writers of America voted Falcons linebacker Vic Beasley as the NFL’s most improved player for the 2016 season, the organization announced Friday.

Beasley led the NFL this season with 15 1/2 sacks and tied for the most forced fumbles with six. During his rookie season of 2015, Beasley had four sacks and two forced fumbles.

The Falcons selected Beasley with the No. 8 overall draft pick out of Clemson. They are set to face the Packers in the NFC Championship game Sunday at the Georgia Dome.

Falcons personnel earned three PFWA awards announced this week. The organization named quarterback Matt Ryan as its league MVP and voted offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan its assistant coach of the year.
