SEATTLE – A person was killed after being struck by a light rail train in Seattle.

KOMO news reported that emergency crews responded to the scene at the Othello station Monday morning after receiving reports of a person trapped under the train.

A Sound Transit spokesperson said that light rail service was temporarily interrupted in the area due to the accident. Passengers were being shuttled through the area by bus until the scene is cleared.

The Seattle Police Department says detectives are at the scene investigating the accident.
