Coeur d’Alene resident killed when struck by pickup in Spokane Valley

A Coeur d’Alene resident was killed Sunday when she was struck by a pickup while walking along Trent Avene in east Spokane Valley.

Tammy A. Hurt, 54, was walking in the eastbound shoulder near Adams Road when she was hit by an eastbound Dodge Dakota about 9:30 p.m., the Washington State Patrol reported in a news release.

The driver, Bryan L. Long, 21, was not injured. Long was not impaired by drugs or alcohol, WSP said.

The crash remains under investigation, WSP said.
