Area boys: Ryan Crosswhite helps top-ranked Freeman stay undefeated in league

Ryan Crosswhite scored 14 points and Freeman (16-1, 11-0), ranked first in state 1A in the latest RPI ratings, routed visiting Riverside (2-16, 0-11) 73-32 on Tuesday.

Crosswhite went 4 of 8 from beyond the arc to help keep the Scotties undefeated in Northeast A league play.

Dylan Oja added 10 points with eight rebounds, four blocks, and three steals.

Kory Cross led Riverside 14 points.

Newport 54, Medical Lake 52: Koa Pancho scored 21 points to lead the ninth-ranked Grizzlies (11-6, 8-3) over the visiting Cardinals (12-5, 8-3), ranked 10th in the state.

Pancho finished the night shooting 8 of 16 from the field with eight rebounds. Danny Bradbury scored 16 points with nine rebounds and five steals for Newport.

Trailing 47-31 after three quarters, the Cardinals went on a 21-7 run in the fourth, finishing two points shy of tying the game.

Xavier Butler led Medical Lake with 15 points, shooting 5 of 8 from 3-point range and Nizhole Sherman added 14 points.

Lakeside (WA) 53, Colville 47: Micah Holmes scored 12 points, Blayne Baerwald added 11 and the visiting Eagles (9-8, 7-4) defeated the Indians (4-13, 2-9).

Alberto Cisneros scored 15 points to pace Colville, while Ty Sandaine and Devin Lembcke added 10 points apiece.

Deer Park 43, Chewelah 37: Carter Countryman scored 10 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter to help the Stags (7-10, 5-6) hold off the visiting Cougars (7-9, 3-8).

Austin Wisinger added eight points for Deer Park.

Elan Krausz scored 13 points for the Cougars.

Great Northern

Clarkston 72, East Valley 55: Jett Sobotta scored 32 points and the Bantams (14-2, 9-0), ranked third in state 3A in the latest RPI ratings, cruised over the visiting Knights (8-9, 3-6).

Jake Albright scored 16 points and Travis Hansen added 12 for Clarkston, which busted it open with a 22-8 second-quarter run.

Jeremiah Hillard led East Valley with 16 points and Eli Holocek added 12.

West Valley 56, Cheney 44: Conner Whitney scored 15 points and the Eagles (9-7, 4-4) defeated the visiting Blackhawks (8-9, 1-8).

West Valley built a 42-24 lead after three quarters. Cletis Hydrick contributed 10 points for the Eagles.

Jaylen Worthem scored 10 points to pace Cheney.

Northeast 2B

Liberty 73, Tekoa-Rosalia 35: Tyler Haas scored 16 points and the Lancers (11-5, 9-3) routed the visiting Timberwolves (4-12, 2-10).

Justin Jeske recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds while adding five assists for Liberty, which exploded for a 27-point third quarter to open it up.

Craig Mueller led Tekoa-Rosalia with eight points.

Northeast 1B

Curlew 67, Columbia 45: Justin Hanks scored 24 points to help the Cougars (6-11, 5-8) defeat the visiting Lions (2-14, 1-10).

Michael Mumford scored 20 points, Liam Chamberlain added 10 and Spencer Fanning grabbed 11 rebounds.

Columbia was led by Corbin Nelson’s 12 points and Darrin Bloomquist added 10.

North Star League

Wallace 65, Lakeside (ID) 51: Zack Welch scored 16 points and the visiting Miners (8-6, 4-1) beat the Knights (4-7, 1-3).

Hunter Gust scored 13 points while Matt Farkas and Erik Brackebuch added 12 apiece for Wallace, which seized momentum with a 20-10 third quarter.

A.J. Bighead scored 14 points and Takoda Abrahamson added 13 for Lakeside.

Nonleague

Northwest Christian 52, Genesis Prep 51: Asher Cox scored 23 points and the Crusaders (14-1, 11-0) defeated the visiting Jaguars (9-4, 5-0).

Cox also made a pair of free throws in the last five seconds to put the Crusaders up by one. Ryan Ricks added 20 points for NWC.

The Jaguars were led by Stephane Manzi with 23 points and Jonny Hillman added 12.

Pomeroy 73, Odessa-Harrington 52: Jake Tewalt scored 20 points and the visiting Pirates (14-1, 10-0), ranked eighth in state 2B, handled the Titans (9-7, 7-4).

Ryan Wolf added 15 points for Pomeroy, Jace Gwinn had 14 and Devin Caruso scored 11.

Ryan Moffet scored a game-high 27 points for O-H, while Camden Weber added 11.

Dayton 59, Oakesdale 57: Ben Kleck scored 19 points and the Bulldogs (3-12) edged the Nighthawks (6-10) 59-57 in overtime on Tuesday.

Kieron Anderson led Oakesdale with 12 points and Austin Rutledge added 11.

Grangeville 58, Colton 29: Luke Stokes scored 16 points and the Bulldogs (5-6) notched a victory over the visiting Wildcats (9-7).

Trey Dreadfulwater scored 13 points, Patrick Schumacher had 12 points and Ryan Ruklic added 10 for Grangeville.

Matt Wolf led in Colton with seven points.
