What did CMR expect?

At the MLK Day Unity Rally, I agree that the crowd’s behavior may have been a bit out of bounds, but what did Cathy McMorris Rodgers expect?

For six years she has pledged to dismantle the ACA, regardless of how many people have benefitted from the system. It is not without flaws, but rather than work on fixing the broken parts, she has given us the same tired talking points (we can do it better, for less money; it’s an affront to freedom, etc.). But, we have yet to see her move one plan forward, at least not one that will guarantee health care opportunities to those who truly need them.

Maybe protesters could have chosen a more appropriate venue, but before she escaped to the cocoon of D.C., how else were they supposed to get her attention? They’re worried. And these are her constituents, too.

Does she care about them, or will she walk away and forget the desperation in the wake of the insult? Only she can answer that. If, in her heart of hearts, she doesn’t care about them, then she got what she deserved.
