Andretty Cordero, Ismel Lopez lead way as Spokane Indians rally to beat Boise Hawks 5-2

BOISE – Andretty Cordero hit a solo homer, added a two-run double in the ninth inning and the Spokane Indians rallied for a 5-2 victory over the Boise Hawks on Monday night for their third straight win in the five-game series.

Ismel Lopez (1-0) threw 4 1/3 innings of scoreless relief, giving up just two hits and no walks while striking out eight. He took over for starter Reiver Sanmartin who surrendered one earned run on five hits and a walk while fanning six.

Cordero’s home run tied the game at 2-all in the seventh. Miguel Aparicio snapped the tie with an RBI double in the ninth with Cordero driving in the insurance runs.

The Indians (7-12) were on the wrong end of a perfect game until the start of the sixth when Cristian Inoa reached on an error. Isaias Quiroz followed with Spokane’s first hit with Inoa eventually scoring on a balk.

Spokane opens a seven-game home stand tonight, taking on the Vancouver Canadians.
