Senate bill is evil

Now that the Senate Republicans have unveiled their (lack of) health care bill, we can all see why it was crafted behind closed doors. They had promised to repeal Obamacare and replace it with a new system that would give equal or better coverage in a more cost-effective manner. Trump specifically said that Medicaid would be protected.

Many House Republicans, after voting for the hugely unpopular House version, had made the excuse that it was not finished, that the Senate version would improve on their bill, but that they needed to pass it to allow the process to unfold.

They lied.

The Senate version cuts even more from Medicaid, but over a longer period in order to fund a massive tax cut for the wealthy and funnel more money to insurance companies and the drug industry. Middle class and poor people would see higher rates, higher deductibles and poorer coverage. Many millions of people would lose coverage. Hospitals, especially smaller rural hospitals, would be hurt. All of this to further enrich individuals and companies that don’t need it.

Think about it. One-sixth of our economy restructured behind closed doors. Drain the swamp? I don’t think so. This is evil.
