CNBC business survey ranks Washington tops in the nation

A CNBC business news program has ranked Washington tops in the nation for business.

CNBC First in Business Worldwide revealed on its “Closing Bell” program Tuesday afternoon that Washington ranked No. 1 in the network’s eleventh annual list of America’s Top States for Business.

The survey ranked states according their performance in 10 broad categories. Washington ranked in the top 10 for workforce, quality of life, economy, technology and innovation, and access to capital. However, Washington scored lower in categories related to business taxes and cost of living.

The state has placed in the survey’s top 10 the past four years. The rankings for all 50 states are available at topstates.cnbc.com.
