A new Pope Francis Haven House is opening soon, and volunteers will be setting up beds on Thursday evening.

The haven at 16412 E. Sprague Ave. has 25 units with two bedrooms and 25 units with three bedrooms. It is a project of Catholic Charities to help reduce homelessness.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is sending 50 full size beds and 150 twin beds from their humanitarian service department in Salt Lake City to be delivered Thursday at 5 p.m., according to a news release from the church.

Church members and other volunteers will be setting up the beds after they arrive.

“These beds will be used by local homeless families with children as they transition to permanent low-cost housing,” the news release said.
