Spokane Shadow women’s team opens playoffs at home on Sunday

The Spokane Shadow women’s first team begins the postseason and defense of its Northwest Premier League title Sunday with a semifinal match against the Washington Timbers at 5 p.m. at the Spokane Polo Grounds.

The Shadow defeated the Timbers 2-0 in the regular season. Havana Johnson scored twice in the first half to lead Spokane to the victory on May 20. Ashlyn Juul recorded her lone shutout of the season. It was the first of six appearances in goal for Juul, who will lead the defense in Sunday’s semifinal.
