From staff reports

A man and woman found dead Thursday afternoon at a Coeur d’Alene apartment likely died in a murder-suicide.

The bodies were found after other residents at the Falls Creek complex, 2827 N. Julia, reported an odor coming from the apartment, Coeur d’Alene police said in a news release.

Officers conducted a welfare check and discovered the man and woman about 4:50 p.m. Thursday. Their bodies were in the apartment for over a week.

Their names have not been released, pending family notification, police said.
