Mariners Noon Number: Danny Valencia follows hot May with big night in early June
Seattle Mariners first baseman Danny Valencia hit .306 with a .364 on-base percentage and .459 slugging percentage in May.
He picked right up where he left off on Friday, going 3 for 3 with three runs and five RBIs in addition to his fifth home run in the M’s 12-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.
This was after the veteran was particularly anemic in April, slashing .181/.256/.306.
The Mariners offense has come around of late and the club has won five of six games after losing seven of eight.
