Associated Press

Authorities in Idaho are searching for a driver who struck and seriously injured a pedestrian and left the scene in Dalton Gardens.

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office said 45-year-old Rodney Russell, of Coeur d’Alene, was in critical condition at Kootenai Health hospital following the crash. Deputies and medical staff found him seriously injured on the side of a street early Sunday morning.

Investigators believe Russell was walking on the side of the road when he was struck by a vehicle. The motorist did not stop or provide aid.

The Sheriff’s Office said they believe a full-size SUV or pickup truck may be involved in the crash.
