PULLMAN – Washington State and the University of Houston have agreed to a two-year series between the football teams that will begin in 2019. WSU will visit Houston on Sept. 14, 2019, with the other Cougars making the return trip on Sept. 12, 2020.

“In recent years Houston has been one of the top programs in the country,” said WSU director of athletics Bill Moos. “I believe our fans will enjoy having another quality nonconference opponent in Martin Stadium.”

The announcement completes WSU’s 2019 and 2020 nonconference schedules. In 2019 WSU will host Northern Colorado and BYU, and in 2020 the Cougars will travel to Utah State and host Inland Northwest rival Idaho.

WSU leads the all-time series with UH, 2-1. The teams last met during the 1988 Aloha Bowl, which ended in a 24-22 WSU victory.
