TACOMA, Wash. – With a rehabbing Felix Hernandez on the mound, the Tacoma Rainiers (32-25) dropped a 12-9 decision to the Reno Aces (37-22) on Tuesday night at Cheney Stadium.

The Aces later added four runs in the fourth, two in the sixth, and one in the seventh to secure the victory.

Keyvius Sampson (4-3) got the win with 2 2/3 innings of scoreless, two-hit relief while Nick Hagadone (2-3) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game. Jimmie Sherfy retired the side in order for his sixth save of the season.

Modesto (High-A)

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. Luke Raley thwarted the Modesto Nuts’ comeback attempt sending them to a 5-4, eleven-inning loss against the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (31-28) on Tuesday night at LoanMart Field.

After the Nuts (33-36) tied the game in the ninth, Luke Raley lifted a walk-off solo home run to lead off the eleventh against Matt Walker (L, 3-1).

In the ninth, the Nuts needed one run to tie it up. Willie Argo started the inning with a double and moved to third on a sac bunt. After an intentional walk, Gianfranco Wawoe entered as a pinch hitter. Wawoe rolled a grounder to short with one out and beat out a potential game-ending double play to allow Argo to score and tie the game.

In the top of the eleventh, Daniel Corcino (W, 1-0) walked the bases loaded but worked his way out of the jam to set up Raley’s heroics.
