Mariners Notes

  • The Mariners scheduled starters for this weekend’s series vs. the Blue Jays (Sam Gaviglio, Ariel Miranda and James Paxton) have combined to go 7-0 with 3.20 ERA (14 earned runs in 39 1/3 innings) in their last seven starts dating back to May 25. During that stretch, Gaviglio, Miranda and Paxton have combined to limit opponents to a .199 average against and a 1.04 WHIP.
  • Entering this three-game set against the Blue Jays, the Mariners are 13-6-2 in the 21 series between the two clubs at Safeco Field. Seattle has recorded three three-game sweeps of Toronto at Safeco Field (Aug. 2014) and a two-game sweep (Sept. 1999). The Mariners have claimed three of their last five home series against Toronto since the start of the 2012 season. Seattle has never lost back-to-back series vs. the Blue Jays at Safeco Field.
  • Over the last 11 games, the Mariners are averaging 6.9 runs-per-game (76 runs) while batting .328 as a team with 16 home runs, a .390 on-base percentage and a .521 slugging mark. Not surprisingly, Seattle is 9-2 during that span
  • In the 16 games prior to this stretch (5/11-27), the Mariners averaged 2.3 runs (36 runs) while batting .205 as a club. Correspondingly, Seattle went 4-12 during that span.
