ISIS of their day

What Elizabeth Rust (“Don’t sanitize history,” May 30) and others who defend Confederate monuments of the generals and the politicians, and the yokels who today drive around with the Stars and Bars on their jacked-up trucks, conveniently forget is that those folks were terrorists and traitors. The Ku Klux Klan and other night riders were (and are) the domestic ISIS of their day.
